Welcome back! Once you arrive on campus, come check in with us to pick up your name tag and important information you will need throughout the weekend. Enjoy some light refreshments and a time to reconnect with your fellow classmates.

Enjoy a guided tour of campus to reflect on the memories of your college days while experiencing new additions to programs and facilities.
5:30pm Dr. Mae Jemison Interview with President Nido R. Qubein*

Dr. Mae C. Jemison Jemison, the first woman of color in the world to go into space, served six years as a NASA astronaut. Aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour, STS-47 Spacelab J mission in September 1992, she performed experiments in material science, life sciences and human adaptation to weightlessness. Jemison leads 100 Year Starship (100YSS), a bold, far reaching nonprofit initiative to assure the capabilities exist for human travel beyond our solar system to another star within the next 100 years. She started The Jemison Group, Inc. (JG) a technology consulting firm integrating critical socio-cultural issues into the design of engineering and science projects, such as satellite technology for health care delivery and solar dish Stirling engine electricity in developing countries. Jemison is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine and is on the boards of Kimberly-Clark, the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and the Texas Medical Center. Jemison earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering and a bachelor of arts degree in African and Afro-American Studies from Stanford University. She earned her medical degree from Cornell University.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of your graduation from High Point University, we would like you to dress in traditional cap and gown to lead the procession onto Roberts Hall Lawn. Be sure not to miss this special ceremony of reflection and celebration. Additional reserved seating is available for all guests and members of the class who choose not to march.
