Alumni Awards

During Homecoming each fall, the High Point University Alumni Association recognizes the outstanding achievements of our alumni through the presentation of the following awards:

Lifetime Achievement Award: The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded to an alumnus/a for their lifelong demonstrated leadership, professional attainment, community involvement and meaningful involvement and leadership at High Point University.

Alumnus of the Year Award
: The Alumnus of the Year is an alumnus/a who has achieved great prominence in his or her career field. This alumnus/a generously devotes himself or herself to the University through extraordinary support and service.

Alumni Service Award
: The Alumni Service Award is bestowed upon an alumnus/a based on his or her generous, philanthropic support for both to the University and other causes through their selfless acts of service.

President's Award: The President’s Award is bestowed on an extraordinary individual of distinction, who is a source of pride for High Point University.  This individual embodies one or more of the University’s values and virtues such as generosity and gratitude; God, family and country; mentorship, civility and respect.  The President’s Award is be selected by Dr. Nido R. Qubein each year.

Ten Under Ten Young Alumni Award
: The Top Ten Under Ten Young Alumni Award highlights and celebrates alumni who have graduated within the past decade.  They are selected based on their outstanding achievement in both their chosen profession and communities and serve as active partners, advocates and investors in High Point University.

Award recipients are honored during the prestigious Alumni Awards Ceremony and Reception on the Friday of Homecoming Weekend.

Want to nominate an alumnus/a for 2020? 

Nominations are accepted from any alumnus/a or friend of the university.  The nomination requirements are as follows:

  1. The recipient must be an alumna(us) of High Point College/University.

  2. The recipient cannot have previously received the same award.

  3. The recipient must be available to accept the award in person during Homecoming Weekend. 

  4. Current employees of High Point University and/or their spouse are not eligible. 

To make a nominations for the 2020 Alumni Awards Ceremony, please complete the nomination form online by April 1, 2020.
