Harold and Kate Reed of North Palm Beach, Florida, are donating $500,000 to establish the scholarship fund. The Reeds have a long history of involvement in education that dates back generations. They also have a student at HPU.
“We feel honored and blessed to be able to provide this opportunity for future generations of High Point University students,” says Hal Reed. “Our daughter has grown not only intellectually, but also professionally, spiritually and emotionally on the HPU campus. We know other students will benefit from HPU’s distinctive educational model as well.”
The Harold and Kate Reed Family Endowed Scholarship Fund will be awarded to students based on financial need. Their gift will contribute to the $28 million that HPU provides in scholarship assistance each year to support its students.
“The Reed family embodies generosity – one of the many values that High Point University instills in its students,” says Dr. Nido Qubein, HPU president. “Their dedicated stewardship enables future students to receive an extraordinary education and go on to live a life of success and significance.”
