An exciting faculty recital is coming to start off the new school year through the High Point University Music Department. Internationally acclaimed Mezzo-Soprano, Dr. Candice Burrows, will be giving a collaborating vocal recital with Professor Dr. Brian Nedvin of Old Dominion University. Dr. Nedvin is the Director and Musical Director of the Opera and Musical Theatre productions at Old Dominion University and is a busy international concert artist.
The program will also feature collaborative pianist and piano professor, Dr. Stephen Coxe, also of Old Dominion.
Dr. Burrows needs no introduction to High Point audiences. She is often featured with the university’s major concerts and co-chairs the vocal area of the music department. Dedicated to the art of the Art Song Recital, Burrows is excited at the variety of music in this collaborating concert and promises that seats will go quickly.
The hour long program, a clever combination of solos and duets, features works by Benjamin Britten, Robert Schumann, Joseph Horovitz, Jesus Guridi, Giacomo Rossini and more. If you have never attended a professional vocal recital, this is the one you want to attend!
