What are my options when choosing a Legacy Brick?
You may choose from two size options, a 4”x8” brick and an 8”x8”.
A mini replica brick may also be ordered with either size option for an additional amount.
What is the mini replica brick? Why should I add a mini brick to my order?
The mini replica brick is a smaller version of your personalized brick that has been installed in the Legacy Brick Garden, and is also made of clay. These mini bricks are great keepsakes that can be gifted to someone you are honoring, or you can keep yourself!
How do I personalize my brick?
Enter your personalized inscription into the indicated inscription field of the order form, under the 'Additional Information' section. Separate each of your lines with a “/” (i.e. JOHN BROWN '24/CHASE YOUR DREAMS/LOVE MOM & DAD).
How will my inscription appear on the brick?
All bricks will have their inscriptions centered and lettering will appear in uppercase format.
How long can I make the inscription?
A 4"x8" brick has three (3) lines available and an 8"x8" brick has up to six (6) lines available. Please ensure each line does not exceed the specified character limit.
How many characters can my inscription use, per line?
A maximum of 20 characters may be placed on each line for both the 4"x8" and 8"x8" bricks! Characters include symbols, spaces and letters.
Where should I input my inscription?
Enter it into the 'Comments' field of the 'Additional Information' section, with lines separated by a “/” (i.e. JOHN BROWN '24/CHASE YOUR DREAMS/LOVE MOM & DAD).
What symbols can I use?
All letters and symbols on your keyboard can be inscribed into your brick. Just be sure to include them in your order when typing out what your brick will say. You may also inscribe Greek characters on your brick.
How do I add Greek characters to my brick’s inscription?
Please type out your inscription exactly as you would like it to appear, using the instructions specified in Question 3. After entering the inscription, indicate the line you would like the Greek letters to appear in and then write out the Greek letters (ex. Line 3: Kappa Delta).
What should I say on my brick? I can’t think of anything!
Some common options people use are campus organizations they were a part of during their time at HPU (ie. class year, honor societies, campus organizations or clubs, Greek organizations, etc.) and others choose to include a short, but meaningful quote. The options are endless! You can use anything that connects you to HPU, whether those are memories or people. Please note that the University does reserve the right to review and approve all wording. Revisions will be made to any quotes that do not align with the values modeled at HPU.
When will my brick be installed?
Bricks are ordered and installed on a routine basis, and in conjunction with Fall Family Weekend, Homecoming Weekend, Spring Family Weekend, May Graduation, and the end of summer.
How long will it take for my brick to be installed after it has been ordered?
Our production process can take up to 2-4 months from the initial order to installation.
How will I know my brick has been installed?
Once installed, you will receive an email notification and will be mailed a recognition certificate featuring a photo of your brick for your own personal records.
I ordered a mini replica brick. How will I receive it?
You may be notified of the option to pick up your mini brick on campus during select dates or events If your order does not have the option for an on-campus pick up or you are unable to pick up your brick during the specified dates, your brick will be mailed to you with your certificate of recognition. Please allow at least 3 weeks from the original notification of brick installation to your mini brick arriving in the mail.
Where can I find my brick on campus?
All bricks are installed outside of Roberts Hall on the left side of the building (when facing the front), near Finch Hall. Newer bricks are installed on the interior rows of the garden square.
Can I visit campus to see my brick?
